Completed: "How to decide" by Annie Duke

We have just completed the reading of the book " How to decide " by Annie Duke . The book is very good. First of all it's not just a book, but more of a work book. Second, the book is very well planned. As your reading progresses with the book, you wont even realize that you have retrospected a lot of your decisions without hindsight bias. Third, this book is not for a specific age group. I think from a teenager to a octogenarian, all can get benefited from the book. Last but not the least, the wisdom from the book can be use in any field or aspect of life. It can be used from poker to a negotiation, from professional to personal decisions etc. This book is highly recommended. One suggestion for the readers , we read the book on Kindle but we suggest to buy the hard copy because as we mentioned that this is more of a work book so you need to write a lot in the blank spaces given in it.

Reading now: Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein

As I mentioned in one of my tweets before, how can someone miss a book recommended by Bill Gates. It is a common believe that a person should early in this field of expertise to get the more mileage. But when Epstein look closely at athletes, Nobel winners, artists and other successful people, it found that this notion is not correct. What else he found and other insights of the book, I will keep sharing on my twitter account.

Completed Reading of: Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein

This is very good book. One can expect the same especially when the book is recommended by none other than Mr. Bill Gates. This book is counter-intuitive and challenges the popular notion of specialization and super-specialization. The book begins with the aptly crafted comparison between Tiger Woods and Roger Federer . As the book progresses the reader can find various arguments to emphasize the notion of generalization over specialization. All arguments are precise and pertinent. The best part I liked in the book where writer mentions that "try and failure" is the best way of learning. The learning which lasts for the life time. Short cut methods and tricks to succeed can give good results in the short span of time, but can't give long lasting performance. The score of these kind of tricks can be amazing but short lived. Overall, a very good book for all readers, from professional to parents, everyone can find something interesting and useful in the book. ***A copy t...
